Mighty Brief

Start Here

  1. Trump’s green-card change looks like a direct hit on U.S. tech talent — This is the loudest policy signal in the stack right now. If legal immigrants have to leave the country to finish the process, the AI talent market gets more fragile fast.
  2. Anthropic says Project Glasswing has already surfaced 10,000+ severe vulnerabilities — Important because it sharpens the real bottleneck: not generating findings, but triaging and patching them. Same theme as everywhere else in AI — output expands faster than human review capacity.
  3. Sundar Pichai is still selling Google as the broad platform layer for the agent era — Worth clocking because Google’s posture is no longer defensive. The bet is that distribution, TPUs, and product surface area matter more than being first.
  4. Matthew Prince has a clean taxonomy: builders and sellers stay; “measuring” roles get squeezed — Blunt framing, but useful. It lines up with your operator thesis: AI does not flatten value evenly. It rewards people who ship or close.
  5. Stratechery’s data-center veto argument is the infrastructure version of the same story — AI demand is accelerating, but local permission structures still decide whether the compute shows up. Physical bottlenecks are getting more strategic, not less.

BM

Live unread scan for dan.wick@blankmetal.ai failed. gog gmail search --account dan.wick@blankmetal.ai 'is:unread newer_than:1d' --max 10 --no-input returned invalid_grant / invalid_rapt, so I am not going to fake an inbox read.
Static BM board read from MEMORY.md: Rally still looks like the highest-upside narrative lead, Care Providers of Minnesota still looks like the cleanest scoped AI use case, and Great Hill / Tungsten still read like decisions that need either motion or pruning.
Main BM tension this morning is concentration. Plenty of open loops. The risk is confusing warm surface area with forward motion.

Munger Observer

Opportunity Cost: the open list is still carrying stale March items. Old priorities are still charging rent in attention.
Margin of Safety: the Minnebar reference in the latest note is stale, but the principle is still right. Protect slack early so one surprise does not consume the day.

Personal Thought

The signal this morning is not “more.” It is “fewer, harder.” The world keeps generating branches. The compounding move is still picking the ones that actually matter and pushing.
