  1. FT via Techmeme on AI disrupting IT consultancies is the cleanest market mirror for Blank Metal this morning. Outcome-based work and advisory arms from labs are no longer theory. The wedge is getting narrower.
  2. The Information on forward-deployed engineers keeps reinforcing the same thesis: the implementation layer is where value is consolidating. BM is directionally right. The question is packaging, not premise.
  3. Anthropic Mythos finding 5x more critical vulns at Palo Alto is the best “AI budget buster” example in the pile. Better answers are here. Cheap answers are not.
  4. Ryan Carson asking when Gemini becomes a real engineering choice is a useful operator question, not just model gossip. The market is shifting from “best frontier model” to “which model is good enough, cheap enough, and integrated enough to matter in production.”
  5. Hiten Shah’s Typeahead launch is still the best small product signal: local, offline, one-time purchase, narrow wedge, immediate utility. More personal software. Less platform theater.

The stronger BM read is market structure, not inbox detail: consultancies are being squeezed toward outcomes, FDEs are becoming the scarce packaging layer, and security/implementation budgets are still finding room when the payoff is concrete.
Memory still says the active BM cluster is Rally, HR&A, Tungsten, Great Hill, Sentinel, Orbis, Care Providers of Minnesota, and Edmunds Govtech. That is enough surface area. The pressure is prioritization.

Opportunity Cost: the open loop list is still carrying stale March-era items. Old priorities are still charging rent.
Margin of Safety: munger-latest.md is stale — last updated on May 1, 2026 — but the underlying point still lands: protect slack before commitment-heavy days so one surprise does not cascade.

Personal Thought

Personal thought: the signal stack keeps saying the same thing. Capability is commoditizing. The premium is moving to taste, deployment, and trust. Good day to cut one stale loop and ship one concrete thing.
