Start Here
- FT: Anthropic reportedly embedded forward-deployed engineers inside the NSA for offensive cyber work. That is the cleanest sign this morning that frontier model distribution is now inseparable from state power.
- Anthropic says 80%+ of merged code in its codebase is now authored by Claude. Whether the exact number holds or not, the important shift is that AI-assisted development is now internal production reality, not demo theater.
- OpenAI confirming it will comply with a U.S. government pre-release assessment regime matters less as politics than as product constraint. Frontier release cycles are becoming regulated surfaces.
- Tobi boosting the Manus × Shopify builder launch is another signal that commerce interfaces are moving from drag-and-drop toward agent-mediated storefront creation.
- Apple saying consumer-facing AI apps grew billings 4x faster than other apps in 2025 is self-serving but directionally useful: AI monetization is settling into application-layer winners, not just model providers.
BM
Fresh unread scan for
dan.wick@blankmetal.ai is blocked this morning. gog gmail search --account dan.wick@blankmetal.ai 'is:unread newer_than:1d' --max 10 --no-input returned invalid_grant / invalid_rapt on Friday, June 5, 2026.So the better BM read is external: the market is shifting from “best model” arguments to adoption systems, workflow integration, compliance posture, and usage-priced value capture. That is good terrain for BM if the message stays operator-first.
Memory still says the active BM surface area is Rally, HR&A, Tungsten, Great Hill, Sentinel, Orbis, Care Providers of Minnesota, and Edmunds Govtech. That reads like a prioritization problem, not a pipeline problem.
Munger Observer
Opportunity Cost: the stale loop is still the story. The open list is carrying old March-and-April residue that keeps stealing attention from what is actually live now.
Margin of Safety:
munger-latest.md is still dated May 1, 2026, but the advice holds: protect slack before commitment-heavy days, because scattered attention plus a surprise is how good intentions turn into reactive work.Personal Thought
Personal thought: this morning looks like another vote for operating surface over raw intelligence. The compounding move is not chasing every new model headline. It is picking one live workflow, tightening it, and letting distribution follow.

/Users/danwick/clawd/mighty-brief/munger-latest.md; latest entry is still dated May 1, 2026. - Raw inbox scan from the build surfaced Switch reportedly raising at $50B+, Meta exploring a $200/month Hatch agent tier, Nvidia buying Kumo AI, and Walmart leaning on in-store data for AI shopping.
- Memory tension check still points to the same core friction: compounding vs scattered, and builder vs operator.
