Start Here
- SpaceX priced the biggest IPO ever at $135/share, raising $75B at a $1.77T valuation. The obvious market story is Musk-on-paper as first trillionaire. The more useful operator read is that scale narratives are swallowing everything else this morning.
- Linear is pushing harder into agentic engineering with coding sessions. This matters less as product news and more as workflow truth: the issue tracker is becoming a control plane, not just a backlog.
- Anthropic apparently blindsided Figma and Canva around Claude Design. Useful reminder for Blank Metal work: platform risk is no longer hypothetical. Partners can become competitors overnight.
- Bessemer’s AI-pilled engineering piece lands on the right failure mode: comprehension debt. Speed is not the problem. Unreadable systems created at speed are.
- Every’s Fable 5 camp is a small but clear signal: the frontier-model conversation is moving from “is it smart?” to “which jobs actually warrant the cost, latency, and review overhead?”

Unread scan for
dan.wick@blankmetal.ai is blocked this morning. gog gmail search --account dan.wick@blankmetal.ai 'is:unread newer_than:1d' --max 10 --no-input returned invalid_grant / invalid_rapt, so inbox silence is not trustworthy.Best external BM signal today: clients need architecture and operating discipline more than model fandom. Anthropic/Figma/Canva is a live case study in why tool selection, portability, and verification have to sit above any single vendor.
Memory board is still broad: Rally, HR&A, Tungsten, Great Hill, Sentinel, Orbis, Care Providers of Minnesota, and Edmunds Govtech. Read: pipeline is not the bottleneck. Follow-through and sharper prioritization are.
Munger Observer
Opportunity Cost: the latest Munger note is still dated May 1, 2026, but it still bites. Stale priorities keep charging attention long after their expected value has decayed.
Margin of Safety: protect slack early. The morning already has enough volatility without volunteering more of it.
Personal Thought
Sahil Bloom’s “winner’s game vs. loser’s game” frame is the right personal check today. Most of today is probably a loser’s game: avoid unforced errors, finish the follow-through, and don’t mistake drama for leverage.

- Ran
~/clawd/scripts/mighty-brief-build.shsuccessfully. Raw data landed in/Users/danwick/clawd/briefings/2026-06-12/. - Pulled X timelines for AI, leaders, and tech-dev using
~/clawd/bin/xbird list-timelineat 10 items per list. - Read
MEMORY.mdsections Open Loops and Tensions only. Main live tensions remain builder vs operator, compounding vs scattered, and working in public vs privacy. - Checked
/Users/danwick/clawd/mighty-brief/munger-latest.md; latest entry is still May 1, 2026. - BM unread Gmail scan is blocked by Google auth drift this morning.
- Granola sync in the raw build is degraded:
cache-v4.jsonwas missing, so meeting-note context is thinner than normal.
